Mockingjay - The Irony of Her Death (Spoilers!!!!) Showing 1-21 of 21I think the revolution would have happened with or without Katniss. It was just a matter of time, you can only oppress a people for so long before they rebel. Weve seen it over and over again in the past. Plus Katniss isnt the only one who could spark the rebellion. She is the spark because of timing and chance. Even though shes really cool and stuff, she is not solely responsible for the way things turned out.
Mockingjay Part 2 Prim's Death Scene HD
Everyone who read Suzanne Collins' "Hunger Games" books knew that Prim's Willow Shields death in " Mockingjay - Part 2 " was coming, though few could probably imagine just how devastating it was when it all played out onscreen. The strong, brave, and caring doctor-in-training was killed in a blast that was more than likely orchestrated by Gale Liam Hemsworth -- alongside dozens of other innocent children -- while Katniss Jennifer Lawrence looked on. It was a total nightmare, but one that Shields was more than ready for, having known the big bang was coming for four-ish years. I avoided thinking about it at all, because I just wanted to embody that strength for Prim as much as possible. This ended up being a not-so impossible task to pull off, as Francis Lawrence made the very conscious decision to not show Prim actually being killed. This allowed Shields to fully focus on Prim's strength in the moment, though she admitted that it was a little strange to film a scene with dozens of other young actors, knowing that they were all about to be killed. Still, "it was one of my greatest memories on set; because working with all the extras and filming a scene like that with such epic-ness, is definitely rare to do as an actor.
If The Hunger Games ' last installment, Mockingjay, Part 2 , stays faithful to the book , then there are three things fans can expect to happen spoiler! No fan favorite is safe from death, whether it be caused by the sadistic death traps of the Capitol or Katniss' own arrows. Now, before you go crazy, let me assure you that Gale does not die in Mockingjay made you look , nor do Katniss and Peeta. Death, of course, would be too easy a conclusion for The Hunger Games ' resident love triangle. But, the good news stops there.
Unlike her sister in many ways, Prim was the opposite of Katniss in both looks and character; having blonde hair like their mother, a gentle personality unlike Katniss' prickly one and a talent for healing, as opposed to Katniss' talent for hunting. Despite this, they are very devoted to each other. She also had a cat named Buttercup , and a goat named Lady. Katniss cares about Prim above anything else in the world, and when Prim is killed in Mockingjay she is devastated to the point that she loses her voice temporarily. Several months later, Peeta Mellark plants primroses in front of Katniss' house in memory of Prim. Although Katniss was unsure if the goat would survive, Prim loved animals and was soon able to heal Lady with her mother's help.
The Hunger Games trilogy has a tendency to sacrifice even its weakest and most vulnerable. Think of the elderly victors called back to the arena for the Quarter Quell, or the youngest of each of the Districts whose names are put forth for the Games each year. Katniss's own sister Prim is one of the children meant to take a place in the arena, though Katniss replaces her in the reaping.
