Cream into Butter
Gentlemen, as of this moment, I am that second mouse. Frank Abagnale Sr. You've got to respect the 2nd mouse! We find our self in a mess and it is easy to give up - it takes a real hero to struggle away, to fight hard against the odds and end up on top. You've got to respect the 2nd mouse. We want to be that mouse - whether at work or at home. Whether the problem is relationships, or career, or finance, we want to be THAT mouse.
The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Any of these sound familiar? Have you ever faced these sorts of situations? What did you choose to do? Like the mice in the story, you have two choices: You can give up and just accept the situation or dig in, churn like crazy and walk out of the problem.
When we start working as an employee, we kind of find safety in that place, and we are grateful we are there. Their vision is cemented. They no longer have the vision to be the leader and have followers behind them. The most common mistake is finding safety and being satisfied with who you are. Once upon a time you were a leader in your mind. Somewhere on the path of becoming the leader you changed your mind.
Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse struggled so hard that eventually he turned that cream into butter.
I think I most enjoyed the way you ended your post. The quote is pretty ironic when you consider that Abignale Sr. I have never heard this quote before but I must say I love it. I also agree that it is very relatable to basically any situation in our lives, and is pretty inspiring in that it tells us to always keep trying because there is no reason to simply give up. It has been many years since I last watched this movie, and so many of the scenes I had totally forgotten about. The one scene that really stuck out to me is when Frank Abagnale Sr. It resonates so well with the theme of this blog. Two little mice fell into a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned.
